O.K., so who didn't see this clash of the ego titans coming to a sudden death? The Van Halen reunion tour was over before it even began. The troubles between Eddie Van Halen and David Lee Roth have proven just too deep to keep the fabled tour off of a crash course. According to the L.A. Times, Live Nation, the shows promoter has cancelled all of the tour dates.
David Lee Roth gave a partial answer to the question of "what happened?" Roth said, "We have fragile politics in Van Halen." Eddie Van Halen so far has declined interviews through his publicist Janie Liszewski.
Next month, the group will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the plan was to follow that with a summer reunion tour that would feature David Lee Roth back in front for the first time since 1984. At this point it's unknown if the Van Halen brothers will even show up for the event on March 12 in New York City.
"I cannot tell you how frustrating and completely nuts this has been," said one person close to the reunion tour.
